Special Conditions
· Required to work in all weather conditions.
· Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned

· Must be prepared to enter confined areas such as manholes, culverts, inlets and pipes
Job Purpose
Performs tasks/ activities associated with general maintenance and repair work to roads,
stormwater and drainage systems using handheld tools and equipment to excavate defined
areas, operating small plant machinery, pressure cleaning devices and utilizes lettering and
marking guides.
Key Responsibility Areas
· Undertakes general labouring tasks and operates small plant and equipment during roadworks, storm-water drainage, road maintenance and road-marking and signage.
· Uses handheld machinery and tools to break or surfaces or drill and mount signage.
· Mixes and lays concrete and other materials using held tools and machinery to spread, compact and smoothen surfaces.
· Cleans stormwater and drainage systems using pressure hoses and hand tools.
· Paints directional signals, signs and lines on road surfaces using guides or following indications/ markings.
· Cleans and verbally reports damages/ defects to tools and equipment.
· Cleaning and removing blockages, debris and alien vegetation from drainage systems.

Essential Requirements
· An appropriate level of primary education.
· Certification of competency in the operation of small plant and equipment.
· 6 Months relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
· An appropriate level of secondary education.
· 1 Year relevant experience
