Job Purpose:
To accurately capture, update, and maintain data related to Gap Cover policies, claims, and member information, ensuring data integrity and supporting efficient administration of insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately capture and update policyholder information, claims data, and documentation into internal systems.
- Validate source documents for completeness and correctness before data entry.
- Verify and cross-check data with supporting documentation (medical bills, claim forms, insurer correspondence, etc.).
- Maintain up-to-date and organized electronic and physical filing systems.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Claims, Customer Service) to ensure timely resolution of data discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all policyholder and claim information.
- Perform regular quality checks and audits on captured data to ensure accuracy.
- Generate daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by management.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within the insurance administration environment.
- Support administrative functions such as scanning, indexing, and archiving documents.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
- A certificate or diploma in administration, data management, or a related field (advantageous).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a data capturing or administrative role.
- Prior experience in the medical insurance or Gap Cover industry is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and claim processes is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent typing speed and data entry skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work with administrative and data management software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
