SAPS POLICE TRAINEE 2025/2026 INTAKE APPLICATIONS STATUS CHECK
SAPS has started sending sms’s to candidates, if you have not yet received your sms, this is how you can check your status:
How to Check Your Application Status:
1. Go to the e-Recruitment Portal: Visit erecruitment.saps.gov.za.
3. Navigate to Applications: Go to the "My Applications" section.
4. Find Your Reference: Locate your application reference number to track its status.
5. Received: Your application has been successfully submitted and logged into the system.
6. In Progress: Your application is being processed, and your documents are being reviewed and verified.
7. Active: Your application has progressed through the initial stages and is being considered.
Important Information:
· Communication to Successful Applicants: Only successful candidates will be contacted.
Contact Method: You will be contacted by SMS or email.
Timeline: You can expect contact within three months after the application closing date of 18 July 2025.
High Volume of Applications: Due to the large number of applications received (over a million), the system may experience high demand and delays in generating confirmation emails.
Unsuccessful Applicants: If you are not contacted within the three-month period, you should assume your application was unsuccessful.
Key details about the 2025/2026 intake:
- Total positions: SAPS advertised 5,500 entry-level police trainee posts across the country.
- Application process: Applications had to be submitted exclusively online via the SAPS e-recruitment portal.
- Selection process: Candidates who meet the requirements and progress in the selection will be contacted within three months of the closing date, so by mid-October 2025. The selection process is rigorous and includes psychometric, physical, and integrity assessments.
- Training details:
- Duration: 21 months, including institutional and community-based training.
- Stipend: A monthly stipend of R4,500 is paid during the training period.
- Benefits: Trainees receive free training gear, meals, accommodation, and medical aid benefits.
- Outcome: Upon successful completion, trainees are considered for permanent appointment as Constables.
