Special Conditions
The position of Multipurpose Room Assistant is interchangeable with Cold Store Assistant.
Must be able to handle hazard chemicals such as Ammonia and Ethylene gas.
40 hours 6 day week.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work in a cold environment.
· Must be physically fit.
Job Purpose
To provide and maintain an efficient and effective multipurpose (ripening) room service and facility.
This post reports to SUPERVISOR (MULTIPURPOSE RIPENING ROOMS)
Key Responsibility Areas
· Loads and removes produce from multipurpose (ripening) rooms.
· Prepares the multipurpose rooms for ripening.
· Undertakes stock control.
· Cleans multipurpose rooms and surrounds.
· Attends to and reports faults.
· Controls the storeroom.
· Assists in smoke tests conducted for detection of leaks.
· Provides relief for Supervisor as required.
· Such other related duties.

Essential Requirements
· Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
· Valid Reach Truck Certificate.
· 1 Year relevant experience
· Computer Literacy.
