FIELD GUIDING SKILLS PROGRAMME: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority in all national parks, responsible for 3 751 113 hectares of protected land in 20 national parks. It draws its mandate from National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003.
Applications are hereby invited from unemployed youth who reside in the communities adjacent to Kruger National Park who wish to start a career in conservation. SANParks, in partnership with Cathsseta, is offering a unique opportunity to participate in a Skills Programme – in Field Guiding for
a period of 6 months with a monthly stipend of R2 695.00 and a further fixed term contract of another one (1) year. SANParks is under no obligation to employ the learner upon completion of the programme.
Location: Kruger National Park
Requirements
- Reside in the village/area within 1-100km from the Kruger National Park.
- Under the age of 35 at the time of registration with Cathsseta.
- South African Citizen.
- Grade 12.
- Clear criminal record.
- Not have benefited from other SANParks skills programmes/learnership/internship etc before.
- Physically fit.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Learner must be willing to attend training in a site away from their hometown for a period of at least four (4) months with all expenses paid for by SANParks.
- Applications must be emailed to Kruger National Park.
- Applicants must attach a recent copy of their CV, certified copies of Matric/Grade 12 certificate, Certified ID copy, Academic qualifications with academic transcripts (academic record), Proof of residence.

Salary: R2 695.00 Per Month
