What You Will Do
Successful candidates may be considered for future roles involving the following duties:
Horse Care and Welfare
You may be required to:
- Feed and water horses
- Groom and care for horses daily
- Monitor horse health
- Report signs of illness or injury
- Report behavioural changes
- Assist horses with cooling down after training
- Support recovery activities
- Keep stables and paddocks clean and comfortable
Training Support
Your duties may include:
- Assisting trainers during training sessions
- Preparing horses with the correct tack and equipment
- Leading and handling horses safely
- Lunging horses
- Supporting warm-up activities
- Assisting with cool-down activities
- Riding horses as part of structured exercise and training programmes
Tack and Equipment
You may also be responsible for:
- Cleaning saddles
- Maintaining bridles and tack
- Looking after horse-related equipment
- Ensuring equipment is safely stored
- Keeping equipment in good condition
Stable and Facility Maintenance
General duties may include:
- Cleaning stables and barns
- Maintaining arenas and surrounding facilities
- Mucking out
- Sweeping work areas
- Organising the yard
- Ensuring work areas remain clean and safe
Record Keeping
You may also need to:
- Maintain horse health records
- Record feeding schedules
- Assist with training records
- Communicate observations to trainers
- Provide updates to management
