WESTERN CAPE GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS (X2 POSTS)

Job Purpose      

The Western Cape Mobility Department, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to provide high level administrative support services to the Sub-directorates Winelands and Central Karoo and the Sub-directorate Metro and West Coast to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the Directorate Land Transport Integration and Oversight. The two successful incumbents must be able to work under pressure, willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours to meet tight deadlines

 

Minimum Requirements             

·         An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higherqualification;

·         A minimum of 3 years relevant experience;

·         A valid code B (or higher) driving license.

·         Provide high level administrative support in the oversight andimplementation of Land Transport Services;

·         Render high level administrative support services;

·         Remains up to date with legislation, prescripts, policies, procedures and processes applicable to the work terrain;

·         Render financial support services;

·         Render research support services;

·         Supervisory functions.

 

Competencies  

·         Knowledge of the following:

·         Transport related regulatory, legislationpolicies and frameworks;

·         Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999 ,National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements;

·         Project management;

·         Operational management practices;

·         Procurement and tendering processes;

·         Public service procedures, processes and systems;

·         Relevant software packages and sound application of relevant computer programmes;

·         General office administration and database management; General support systems;

·         Information and Record Management/Administration.

·         Numeracy, Literacy, Computer Literacy; Written and verbal communication;

·         Project Management; Accounting, Finance and Audit; Economic, Financial and Statistical Analysis;

Remuneration: R 325 101 - R 382 959 per annum (Salary level 7)

 

Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

 

Notes   

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
