iYouth Advice for SANDF MSDS Applicants:

Before applying for the Military Skills Development (MSDS) Programme, take note of the following important tips:

1. Apply Early

Do not wait until the closing date. Early applications reduce stress and give you time to fix any missing documents.

2. Check Your Documents Carefully

Ensure your ID, CV, Matric certificate (or statement of results), and tertiary qualifications are clear, certified, and correctly attached.

3. Prepare Physically

Start exercising early. Basic fitness such as running, push-ups, and endurance will help you cope better with military training.

4. Be Mentally Ready

Military life requires discipline, teamwork, respect for authority, and commitment. Be honest with yourself before applying.

5. Avoid Disqualifying Mistakes

  • Do not submit fake documents
  • Ensure you have no visible tattoos when in uniform
  • Stay away from drugs — testing is compulsory

6. Use Official Recruitment Centres Only

Applications are free. Do not pay anyone to apply on your behalf.

7. Be Patient After Applying

SANDF recruitment processes take time. If you are not contacted by the stated date, consider the application unsuccessful and look for other opportunities.
