Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
✔ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
✔ Minimum 3 years experience in a healthcare facility
✔ Good interpersonal and communication skills
✔ Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job
✔ Ability to work under pressure
✔ Ability to work in a team environment
Candidates must also be willing to:
• Work shift schedules
• Work weekends and public holidays
• Work night shifts
Employees currently working in the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP) within the Department are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
• Ensuring instruments and equipment are complete and functional
• Cleaning, packing and sterilising instruments using autoclaves
• Preparing sterile packs including gowns and towelling
• Handling sterilised items and storing them correctly
• Maintaining hygiene and safety within the unit
• Ensuring proper use of resources
• Following safety and infection control regulations
• Maintaining professional standards and continuous development
