NCC Group Is Hiring 50 Fire Fighters in the Western Cape for 2026/2027 – Apply Before 26 August

NCC Group has announced 50 Fire Fighter vacancies for a fixed-term contract running from October 2026 to September 2027.

Successful applicants will form part of a wildland fire-fighting team responsible for fire prevention, fire suppression and emergency response operations across various operational bases in the Western Cape.

About the NCC Group Fire Fighter Jobs

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will form part of a wildland fire-fighting team and may be required to:

• Perform fire-fighting duties, including direct and indirect attack, mop-up and observation.
• Participate in fire prevention operations.
• Assist with alien plant clearing.
• Assist with irrigation setup.
• Participate in public fire education activities.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and machinery.
• Attend training sessions to maintain required competency levels.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness.
• Participate in standby shifts as scheduled.
• Respond to fire and emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be 18 years or older.
• Be available for shift work and standby duties.
• Have no criminal record.
• Have a high level of physical fitness and good health.
• Be able to pass a Physical Fitness Assessment.
• Be able to pass an Occupational Health Practitioner Evaluation.
• Be able to work under pressure and in high-stress environments.
• Comply with the NCC Group’s Alcohol, Drug and Substance Use Policy.
• Be a strong team player.
• Have good observation skills.

Physical Fitness Assessment

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Physical Fitness Assessment, including a pack test.

The assessment requires candidates to:

• Complete a distance of 4.8 km.
• Carry a 20 kg pack.
• Complete the test in under 45 minutes.

Shortlisted candidates will also undergo a criminal record check.
