The University of the Free State (UFS) is inviting applications for 2 Permanent General Worker positions (Sports Grounds) under Facilities Management at the Bloemfontein Campus.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity for candidates with Grade 10 and a valid driver’s licence.

Location: Bloemfontein Campus, Free State
Salary: R122 167.47 per year (plus benefits)
Job Level: Unskilled
Job Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
• Clean assigned sports grounds and surrounding areas
• Operate gardening and maintenance equipment (brush cutters, mowers, blowers, etc.)
• Maintain irrigation systems
• Trim trees, mow lawns, and mark sports fields
• Apply fertilisers and pesticides according to safety procedures
• Lift and move heavy equipment when required
• Operate a motor vehicle or tractor if needed
• Follow safety procedures and workplace regulations
• Assist with general maintenance duties
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 10 (NQF Level 2) – proof required
• Code EB/B Driver’s Licence – copy required
• Relevant experience related to grounds or maintenance work
Recommended (Advantageous)
• At least 1 year relevant experience
• Experience operating gardening machinery
• Knowledge of safety procedures
