Job Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to provide security services in line with the Private Security Industry Regulations Act 56 of 2001, as amended.

Main duties include:

• Patrolling premises to identify suspicious activity

• Monitoring and controlling access to stores and sites

• Checking staff, suppliers, vehicles, and merchandisers where required

• Protecting company property, stock, staff, and customers

• Investigating and reporting damage, theft, or unlawful entry

• Completing registers, occurrence books, and written reports

• Assisting with opening and closing procedures

• Monitoring alarms, CCTV, and emergency equipment

• Responding to incidents and contacting police or emergency services when necessary

• Maintaining order during emergencies and evacuations

• Enforcing company rules and security procedures at all times

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following essential requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate

• PSIRA Grade C accreditation

• At least 3 years’ general exposure in the retail industry, such as malls or warehouses

• South African citizenship

• Clear criminal and credit record

• Good written and spoken English

Advantageous requirements:

• At least 1 year of direct experience in a similar security role

• Knowledge of a third language

• Driver’s licence, reliable transport, and PDP when deployed as a driver

Skills and Competencies

• Fire emergency awareness

• Health and safety training or exposure
